Here's what that really means (faq's)

Entry deadline to have your home appear in the 2020 Parade of Homes is September 04. If you have a situation that may delay your entry let Chrissy know immediately by calling (540) 898-2730.

Entry deadline to have your ad  appear in the 2020 Fredericksburg Homes & Living Magazine is September 08. For ad information download the packet or call Chrissy at (540) 898-2730.

Virtual means that your home is not open to the public, and PoH website visitors will “tour” your entry virtually from their personal devices when it’s convenient for them.

Your contact information will be on the page, so when visitors want to leanr more, they can reach out to you directly.

Virtual Open Houses will have a “virtual” badge on the homepage photo.

In-person is the same as it has always been, Open House-style tours with an “open house” badge. It’s your choice!

We get it. It’s hard to commit to anything this year. Whether it’s COVID uncertainty, supply or permit delays, a hot market with customers snatching up inventory before you can build it, this year’s Parade of Homes is different. There is no requirement to host an open house (unless you want to). Even if you don’t have a house to show, you can enter photos of a previously built or sold home and PoH is added marketing and promo for your business. We won’t include an address if you are only hosting “virtual” showings from an occupied home.

All you need are photos of the entry, a little information, your logo, and floor plans if you have them. If you have a virtual tour (3D or video) of the entry we will include that on the website. And every entry gets their own custom promotional/marketing video made from photos.

This is an easy one! All entries will be judged virtually this year. This means that FABA and FAAR judges will NOT be touring entries in person. Judges will use Parade of Homes website to evaluate the entries. There will still be awards for Best of Parade in each type and price category as well as “Special Recognition” awards for things the judges want to recognize for each entry.

If your model or spec home is ready and meets safety requirements, you can definitely host Open Houses. FABA will update your entry’s listing on FredParade.com as often as you have information for us to add or change. If your entry will be open to the public, the times and information will be visible at the top of your “details” and an “open house” badge will be added to the homepage photo if the entry.

  • IMPORTANT FOR 2020! Homes do not have to be open to the public. Homes can be
    Virtual Tour only. This means you can promote an entry that is completed and sold.
  • Current COVID-19 Model Home Tour Guidelines provided by local authorities and CDC
    will be in effect for all entered homes that choose to promote open house.

2020 Parade of Homes Entrance Fees

2020 Model/Spec Home Fee: $1500 per entry
Community Entry Fee: $1500 per entry
2020 Remodel Project Entry Fees: $1200 per entry

Builders/Remodelers are to provide:

  • Photography and virtual/video tour (if available) of entry
  • Floorplans (simplified brochure blackline) as digital file or image
  • Features, highlights, and details of the entry (see form attached)
  • Builder can specify how property can be viewed by public – this includes Model Home
    Open Hours; By Appointment Only; Virtual Tour Only, etc.

Important Dates to Remember:

  • Deadline to Enter: September 04, 2020
  • Deadline for Photographs and Details: September 04, 2020
  • Pinnacle Builder Entries Due: September 04, 2020
  • Virtual/Online Judging: THURSDAY, September 24, 2020
  • Parade of Homes Virtual Awards Celebration: October 1, 2020
  • Parade of Homes Entry Marketing – August to October 2021

Entries will be grouped approximately in the following price ranges
(these are subject to change based on entry count):

  • $0 – $399,999
  • $400,000 – $599,999
  • $600,000 – $799,999
  • $800,000 – $999,999

Judging

All Entries will be judged within each price range and are eligible to win the following awards:

  • Best of Parade (overall price range winner)
  • Best Kitchen
  • Best Master Suite
  • Best Floor Plan
  • Best Curb Appeal (Front)
  • Best Outdoor Living Space (Rear/Side)
  • Best Rec Room / Basement / Bonus / Flex Space
